Jahkur wasn't born in a sterile laboratory or conceived in a corporate boardroom. It was born in a quiet tiny apartment in the early 1990's among a chaotic symphony of essential oils, incense, car fresheners, raw materials and the fervent dream of trademarking the name of its creator namesake, Darik Jahkur also known mononymously as Jahkur.
In truth Jahkur is not some celebrity in the perfume or entertainment world and he has been often described as a recluse by those close to him, a kitchen table creator designer who always had a nose for exotic scents and the extraordinary as a side hustle. He received that gift from his mother and maternal grandmother who always love to have him smelling the best as a child
He always felt that the mainstream perfume industry was...predictable. It often only touted new scent promotions from celebrities, it was just like the song, the Same Ol' Story, a hot entertainer gets popular then it's a perfume and then they get media to produce out in corporate mass but rarely did it evoke a true sense of personal narrative or individual artistry of a true fragrance lover.
